2022 Writers Block

Winegrowing Information

There were no frost events in 2022 and an early spring began in March bringing us first budbreak in the Lava Block. The warm trend continued through a May bloom up until harvest. It was an earlier than typical harvest; the weather dictating early ripening. Yields were light, at merely one ton per acre on average. Berry set was small and concentrated.

Tasting Notes

Black currant and black raspberry notes lead the way with pops of pomegranate, graphite, chocolate and crushed rock. Hints of white pepper, dried wildflowers, crème brûlée and suede leather make an appearance as the wine opens. The 2022 Writers Block is unctuous on the palate with flavors of dark fruits and mocha, and is immediately delicious.

• 100% Estate Grown (40% Syrah, 30% Petite Sirah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Grenache) at elevations of 1100–1450 ft.
• Moon Mountain District AVA, Certified Organic
